Rites of Passage (ROP) is the Twin Cities’ renowned leadership acceleration experience for high achieving male high school seniors of African descent.  ROP is rooted in the seven principals of Nguzo Saba or African Heritage, and focuses on self-discovery, achievement and leadership.

The ROP experience is built on a high touch insight, exposure and application model that enrolls the "Initiates" in a broad range of leadership philosophy and practical experiences.  The "Initiates" engage in a series of common experiences over a 5 month time period during their senior year.  Experiences could include championship time management, communicating for impact, personal branding, technology for leaders, mock interviewing, financial management and The Law & You.  All culminating in a team based Capstone Project.  Each "Initiate" is assigned a male mentor who helps guide them through the passage.  The ROP experience culminates in a large invitation-only celebration that officially ushers the Initiates into the community as men.

ROP is about excellence. Excellence in thought, excellence in leadership, excellence in service.
