Apply for ROP 2022-23
Rites of Passage COVID 19 Impacts
-
Recruitment
Current COVID-19 guidelines encourage limiting the size of gatherings. Aligning with those guidelines, the
number of Initiates will be capped at 10-12 young men. Space will be limited so please apply as soon as
possible and include a resume. -
In-Person Sessions
Group sessions will remain the same (~10), but to mitigate risk, most sessions will take place virtually. Activities Co-Chairs will review sessions and will suggest in-person sessions for those best delivered face-to-face (i.e., Law and Me, the session in which current and past law enforcement officers discuss interacting with the police). -
Initiate Bonding Activities
It is customary for Initiates to engage in at least four group bonding activities, however due to COVID-19 safety guidelines, these activities may be administered in a virtual environment during the specified months; October - “Get to Know You”
November - Community Service Activity
December - Virtual Retreat
January - MLK Breakfast
Participation in the MLK Breakfast is contingent on whether this event will be hosted in 2023 AND if ROP co- chairs feel that our Initiates are able to participate in a safe manner.
